The primary objective of this class is for the student to develop good work habits and good work ethic. Emphasis is placed on working cooperatively, being organized, keeping work areas neat and clean, and getting all assignments completed in a timely manner.
Program topics included in the current FACS curriculum are Personal Development, Living Environments, Family Life, Nutrition and Wellness, Parenting and Child Care, and Resource Management. Additionally, we encourage participation in community service as our connection to our vocational student organization, FCCLA.
6th & 7th Grade: Family and Consumer Science is centered on the interrelationship of family, community, and careers and teaches students communication and leadership skills to become responsible citizens.
8th Grade: Food, Nutrition, & Wellness focuses on healthy food and lifestyle choices and how our overall wellness is impacted by those choices.
